On 8th January Annotsav was inaugurated at the hands of Commissioner of Police for Belgaum Mr. Mukarjee along with Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Agarwal. This ten-day festival was a great success and our footfall for ten days was 60000 apart from the kids, which were not counted. In all there were around 123 stalls. Out of these 80 stalls were food stalls and remaining were consumer and auto displays. This year some interesting homemade food was available at some stalls and those were quite a hit amongst the Belgaumites.
Over a period of ten days many competitions were held on the stage and one such popular competition was “Alpha Star Chef” which was sponsored by our own Rtn. Manual Carvalo. As many as 45 entries were there and the judge for this event was TV star chef Mr. Vishnu Manohar, who judged the dishes prepared by participants. Interestingly there was only one male entry and he won the title. Apart from these competitions, every day orchestra was entertaining the public. Lot of praises were showered on rotary club of belgaum by visitors for superb arrangements of stalls and in general the festive mood. The event ended on 17th January. The chief guest for this function was MLA Mr. Firoj Sait and Guest Of Honour was our own DG3170 Rtn. Srinivas Malu. Awesome work by event chairman Rtn.Mukund and his team, which was ably supported by Mr. Narayan Chougule, Mr. Suresh and Prabhu sound. We also thank Prakash sales agencies represented by Rtn. Amit for making available the gen set free of cost for ten days.
